Cranberry Nut Stuffing…When Timing Matters To Make Sales!

Ray, my customers are Not opening my emails?

Or buying my products…

It’s a question I get a lot …

But one of the things that maybe you haven’t thought of…

Is the timing right!

Okay, already here the cries of “How do I know when it’s the right time?”

Well let me explain…

You’ve heard it before no doubt…

Live a day in the life of your customers…

But for some of us it’s hard to think about someone else’s life.

It’s hard to stop and think about someone else’s day.

When our minds are so concerned with what’s happening in our own day…

Well I want to give you an insight of what it means to have your message timing spot on…

Lets have a look at the 23rd of December 2016 at my day..

And see why the timing was all wrong for any other kind of product except for cranberry nut stuffing…

So my day started, waiting by the front door for the mailman to deliver some important documents for my offline cleaning business…

The clock hit 10.00am.

I raced to the front door to pick up the documents throw them on the front seat of the car and out the door I went…

I had 4 hours driving to deliver them to the sites I manage…

With podcasts humming in the background soaking up marketing knowledge…

I arrived just around 3.00pm…

I had travelled 400 klms to deliver documents….

After spending 10 mins in each store talking to cleaners and sorting out a couple of problems…

Time to head back home…

I left about 9.30pm

So lets look at my day so far, I’ve driven about 500 klms spent 10 hours working and ready to head home.

Remember its two days before Christmas.

I’m away from my family.

The traffic is murder.

I’m watching cars all packed up with camping gear or caravans ready to start their holidays…

And I’m ready to drive through the night to get back home to get things ready for Christmas day….

I arrive back home about 2.00am in the morning…

Exhausted I flop into bed….

By 7.00am I up and out the door ready for the long day ahead…

It’s the 24th December 2016…


My wife has given me a list of chores that needs to be done for Christmas day…

As I look down the list it reads

  • Pick up turkey
  • Pick up prawns
  • Pick up MY present
  • Prepare turkey
  • Don’t forget dinner tonight
  • Take turkey to your mums

Plus I had support tickets to answer for my online business…

So lets look at where my brain is at this point in time….

I have a mountain of things to achieve…

I haven’t got my wife a gift yet and I feel pretty shitty about that…

I race into the shopping centre grab my wife the present she asked for.

Because at the time I didn’t have the mental capacity to go searching for something different and special…

I go to the butchers half way across the city to grab the turkey we have on hold, waiting to be picked up.

And then head to fish monger to grab the prawns…

Now here is the lesson…


Imagine if for the briefest of moments I checked my emails and your make money online message comes up…

What’s the chances that at anytime throughout my day that I would be interested in your product…

I’ll tell you NONE….

Why because my mind is on turkeys, prawns and how am I going to fit all this work into today…

BUT imagine, if when picking up the turkey or walking through the grocery store I seen sign or heard an announcement or even read an email that said something like…

Jamie olivers famous cranberry nut stuffing just add water…

The best stuffing you’ll ever taste all ready to go just add water and shake… only $50 per packet…

“Instantly, I’d be like sign me up hell give me 2”

I will get home add the water and stuff that bird neck and arse with this stuff…

This will save me 2 hours…

Do you think I’d worry about the price at $50 per packet…

Maybe, but the impulse to buy would be too great I think…

Does it help me…yes saves me about 2 hours work something I need that day…

Can I still look like a great cook to all my friends and family…

You see, my brain wasn’t looking for cranberry nut stuffing…

It didn’t even know it was available…

But my brain subconscienously knew we had a problem and when the solution popped up in the form of an advertisement.

It immediately went through a series of objections and convinced itself that this is what we need …

And more importantly the timing was spot on…


Subconsciously my brain started looking for the solutions or being more aware of solutions…

And when the timing and the solution is right a buying decision happens almost automatically…

Without thought…without objections because the brain bends the disbelief to relieve the pressure of the problem…

You see when emailing your list with offers or running ads to get more customers timing is everything…

That’s why when thinking about what your customers day is like you understand when is the right time to send your sales message out…

Always start with the problem…


You need to think about the problem your customer has and your product is the solution…

And if the timing is right and all the planets are lined up…

Your sales message gets through unhindered straight to the beeline into the subconscience bypassing all the objections…

And the sale is made…

It could be in a day… in a year… in a month…

But if you keep in contact keep sending daily emails…

Or keep placing ads you’ll eventually hit the right message at the right time and bingo a sale is made…
